In the land of Etherdeign, Bredikai Cronunham is a bit of an outcast. As a "mercenary for hire" (depending on who you ask), she spends most of her time on the road looking for trouble with the dragons of the land. When the king of the dragons dies, Bredikai is recruited by Etherdeign's king to help keep his evil son Borghalus from taking his place. On her journey, she is joined by the biggest group of misfits in the land, and she must accomplish her mission, no matter how badly they distract her with their help.
