In this episode, we chop it up with Darcy Bourne, a student from England who’s currently attending Duke University. After a photo of her holding a sign that read, ‘why is ending a racism a debate?’ from the London protest went viral, she’s been using her platform to become increasingly more active in the movement. Darcy talks about where she got the idea for the sign, how she put it all together, and being pleasantly surprised and grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response the sign generated. Additionally, Darcy talks about the difference between racism in the U.S. as opposed to the U.K. Lastly, Darcy offers up some advice for anyone who’s thinking about using their voice to speak up on this issue but is hesitant to do so.
