This type of retirement plan is not the kind where you travel the world luxuriously. It’s the time that happened fast.

So the first step is to determine the least amount of money you can live on. Like the absolute minimum. Now that that is out of the way, get to work.

3. Cut out all unnecessary expenses
   
   
4. Contribute as much as you can to deferred tax vehicles
   
   
5. Use credit card points
   
   
6. Eat cheap
   
   
7. Work more
   
   
8. Get used to having less
   
   

Taking these steps will get you retired quick. This type of plan only works if you understand that it’s ok to have less.

I was hanging out one day at a local coffee shop. There was a hurricane that hit a carribean country. The people at the table next to me lived on a boat (they were expats) in that country and had to evacuate. All they had to do was move their boat from the disaster zone to our local coast. They worked online (so technically they weren't’ fully retired) and understood what they needed to be happy. They were ok with living on a boat and “working” in coffee shops.
