Do You Like Apples is back with a conversation completely about Trap and M Night Shyamalan, but TWIST… Billy has technical issues with his audio.
Shyamalan has made himself one of the few remaining “event” filmmakers. No matter the premise you know that he will be taking wild swings and he will polarize audiences in the process.
Josh Hartnett stars in this PG-13 serial killer thriller set at a Taylor Swift-esque concert with his daugther. The trailer seemingly gives away the twist, but we should have known that this movie would have twists stacked on twists. Each of which increases the intensity while also making the audience laugh. We are still unsure if Shyamalan means for us to laugh at his movies.
Drew and Billy wrestle with Trap but completely praise the current stage of M Night’s career. A director who went through such an identity crisis is now seemingly more confident than ever. Creating capital “C” Cinema almost every year and we will be there every time.
