6. A Few of the Week's Accomplishments
- We broke ground on the $22.5M Pinnacle Hotel in Shiprock, N.M.
- Over 75 walkers and runners took part in the Wellness Warrior Fitness Series at Diné College alongside the Navajo Epidemiology Center, Navajo Health Education Program, Special Diabetes Program, Teec Nos Pos Wellness Center, and Bashas'.
- At the Northern Navajo Fair, we gave out 1,500 skateboards as a part of Kids Day activities with Wells Fargo, 4Kinship, Chizh for Cheii, Protect the Sacred, and the Shawn Shine Show.
- We opened a new location for the Shiprock Flea Market.
- We celebrated the signing of the Horseshoe Bend Development and broke ground for a new resort there in Lechee, Ariz.
- Progress in Housing Improvement Program: Houses in Lukachukai and Round Rock completed.

- Navajo Nation Department of Emergency Management assesses damage in Shiprock following flood.
- We recently toured completed veterans homes in Northern Agency.
- Chief Terry Cosby with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service came to the Navajo Nation.
- The 2024 Navajo Nation Youth Hunt had eleven youth this year.
- DODE allies with Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Response, and county partners for Navajo Nation Safety and Health Task Force.
- Road construction in Sweetwater, Ariz., nears completion.
- Mexican Springs Chapter powerline project connects 5 homes, 5 more homes expected.

- This past week, we took part in the Northern Navajo Fair events.
- First Lady and I attended the Miss Northern Navajo Pageant and Coronation Ceremony to celebrate the new royalty and express encourage to all contestants.

- Western Navajo Fair in Tuba City: October 17 to 20, 2024.
