Listen

Description

In this 56th episode I discuss some literature regarding the use of classical psychedelic compounds like LSD, Psilocybin, and DMT for all manners of chronic pain conditions. Indeed, conditions like migraine, chronic pain of all kinds, and neurological inflammation/brain injury can all improve by exposure to these compounds.

Having said that... These compounds are all still controlled substances and come with some hefty penalties. The information discussed here has more to do with what is happening currently in the research arena, than what happens with recreational use.

There has been a rather recent resurgence in research following a multi-decade prohibition after the post-hippie era of the 1960's. But the research has returned and is showing promise enough for the FDA to state openly that they can be "groundbreaking interventions" for many neurological disorders, including drug and alcohol addiction.

Listen in as I explain just what psychedelic compounds are, how they work in the brain, and why they can help with so many conditions in as little as one experience.

I also offer my two cents on their use and how they can very nicely fit into a functional approach to care if used properly and with respect.
