Description

The UI Sports SalesCast, presented by the University of Iowa Sport and Recreation Management program, is a series of in-depth conversations with program alums and sports industry executives on ticket sales and revenue generation to prepare our students for their careers.

Hosted by Charlie Taylor, an adjunct lecturer, and 20+ year sports industry veteran, the SalesCast covers all topics of professional and collegiate athletics ticket sales and the different forms of revenue generation to give our students a real-life look at the industry they are preparing to enter.

Welcome to Ep. 6 of the UI Sports Sales Cast with Charlie Taylor of the UI Sport and Recreation Management Program.

In this episode, Charlie welcomes UI Sport and Recreation Management alum Josten Boyer, Group Sales Account Executive for the Memphis Grizzlies. Josten shares her insight on entering the sports ticket sales industry as a UI graduate. She talks about the skills she has, as well as what she has learned. She also dives into the importance of relationships in sales and how she gets the sale. Finally, Josten passes on her advice to our students as they get ready to enter the job market and talks about the life balance needed in the ticket sales industry.
