Tom Flaherty, besides being Katie's younger brother, number 5 in a family of 6 siblings, is the beloved lead pastor of City Church, in Madison, WI. He is one of Katie's favorite storytellers of all time and the author of nine books: some fiction, some on serious subjects like Calvinism and the end times, and a devotional that is 365 readings for daily doses of wisdom. He and his wife Alice lived in Minnesota for years and pastored several churches there before moving to Wisconsin in 2010.They have four adult children, all married, and four grandchildren. Tom knows first-hand what it means to rely on the Lord for hope in desperate situations. He's handled all kinds of grief both big and small. Tom exemplifies the kind of person that takes heart in the face of tribulations because he knows that Jesus is real and sends hope, help and healing to his people.
