Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 43:18 NIV

__________

Isaiah 43:18 NIV

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

1) Principle #1: Understand you were not created as a person of deficits, handicaps & baggage
Genesis 1:26a KJV

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion....

Genesis 2:7 KJV

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Psalm 139:13-15 MSG

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.

2) Principle #2: Close the book on the person the devil had you thinking you are

Philippians 3:13-14 KJV

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

3) Principle #3: Quit discussing your past with everyone

Psalm 103:12-13 NIV

as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;

1 John 1:9 NIV

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Isaiah 43:25 NIV

“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

4) Principle #4: Let go of the disgrace, shame, and embarrassment

Isaiah 54:4 ESV

“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

Isaiah 50:7 NLT2

Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame.

5) Principle #5: Walk by faith and not emotions

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV

“Indeed, our lives are guided by faith, not by sight.”

Romans 1:17 NIV

“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

6) Principle #6: Embrace the power of forgiveness

Ephesians 4:32 KJV

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Colossians 3:13 KJV

"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
