Iwan and Dave return to discuss the WWF in 2000, as on the docket is No Way Out 2000 from the Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
The lads discuss a heck of a lineup, headlined by Triple H and Cactus Jack once again, this time in a Hell in a Cell match! Is this match actually better than their epic Street Fight at the Royal Rumble, and exactly how much DID Mick Foley do to elevate Triple H? All the thoughts and analysis on perhaps one of the most batshit insane matches in the whole Attitude Era (and that's covering a lot of ground!)
The Rock and The Big Show, fresh off the finish to the Royal Rumble, have a bicker about who's off to WrestleMania, so they have a #1 contenders match, with exactly the kind of SWERVE you'd expect from a match of this magnitude.
Rounding out the undercard:
The first of two more title fights sees European Champion, Kurt Angle strive to become only the second Euro-Continental Champion in history at the expense of Chris Jericho, how did this opening bout pan out, and what element of the match did the lads consider to be irrelevant?
There was a possible changing of the guard in the Tag Team Division, as WWF Tag Team Champions, The New Age Outlaws, took on the Dudley Boyz.
We discuss how STORY got in the way of a passable Hoss Fight, as Viscera and his Naff Ring Gear squared off with SEXUAL CHOCOLATE, Mark Henry.
Edge & Christian took on the Hardy Boyz in a somewhat underrated chapter in their storied history - a match without gimmicks.
Plus off the heels of arguably one of the best debuts in Federation history, how did Tazz fare against The Big Boss Man? (Spoilers: Not Very Well...)
NO HOLDS BARRED action as X-Pac and Kane, former Tag Team Champions now bitter enemies, went to battle.
And in Trios action, Too Cool & Rikishi took on Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn of the Radicalz. And yes, we do briefly have THAT CONVERSATION about how to talk about Benoit's in-ring legacy without the dark cloud of 2007 dominating the discourse. This match turned outy to be very good, though, and we give our thoughts.
We also chat about the music, TV and films of the era, and other pot pourri, so join us for another fun edition of MXL Classics!
Recorded on Thursday 13th March 2025.
