The WWE pay-per-view "Where it All Begins Again" is where we actually end this story, as Iwan and Ashleigh return for episode three of MXL Classics, and complete the Road to WrestleMania XX with a review of the Grandaddy of them All, from the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.
A marathon show sees a LONG ASS REVIEW, featuring:
- The night Chris Benoit finally gets his flowers, though should wrestling fans REALLY be rating this moment at all, considering his ultimate fate?
- Did Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, both on the outs from WWE, deliver arguably the worst match in Mania history?
- The state of the women's scene in WWE, from a crap eye-candy Playboy tie-in match, to a Title vs Hair match that gets less time than the lads spend DISCUSSING it...
- Most of the SmackDown Six who could still go, unsurprisingly upping the workrate average of the show, with Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle leading the way,
- Two of the most mid four-way tag matches in WWE history, which reminded the lads of the strange mash-up theme for RVD & Booker T,
- Seeing Mick Foley, a man still in his THIRTIES at the time, look epically knackered in his first Mania wrestling appearance in four years,
- Kane having to carry the returning Undertaker in their match, which was arguably better than the more heated match six years earlier at WrestleMania,
- And the rise of John Cena culminates in a title showdown with the Man of a Thousand Turns, The Big Show.
- Oh, and SO MANY "Oh Fuck Off You Troublesome Bastard!" moments from Iwan... and that's just from Donald Trump's appearance on the show!
Non wrestling chat talks about the movies and music of the time, with such classics as the Starsky & Hutch movie, to the rise of THE CHA-CHA SLIDE!
All that and more on an episode of MXL Classics that's definitely more bloated than Triple H in this era, and with far less chemical assistance...
