After the smartarse idea of originally recording this on the Noisy/Northern Line went as well as a wet fart in church, Iwan joins forces with Our Leighton on the way home from London Bridge to chat about Elite Wrestling Entertainment's second Bank Holiday Monday show this month, live from the Bedford in Balham.
While a Super, Strong Style-style tournament concluded up the Northern Line in Camden, the Brothers Mack were joined by an absent Dave (well absent except when he's editing this, of course...), and this was the card of action:
- With his EWE career on the line, "The Voice of EWE" Clive Jackson leads a four-man team, opposed by his nemesis, "The Law" Louis Basham, and his Gang of Utter Bastards. This eight-man tag match has been brewing for a long time, and the feud between Jackson and Basham comes to a dramatic head!
- Two titles are up for grabs, as UK Champion OF THE WORLD (how does that work?) Alexander Roth defended his title against the explosive Smashing Mike. Could the Wolf of Brawl Street keep his title or would he fall to the Smashing One?
- The second title saw the Light Heavyweight title on the line, with Theodore Powers, Wet Floor Sign in tow, challenging the ever-popular Bread Winner, Ricardo Borg, for the belt. (Borg's popular because he has a duck, you know...)
- Don Fury had a stern test ahead, as British wrestling legend James Mason would oppose "The Black Mamba" in singles action.
- A rare women's match in EWE - actually billed as part of their inter-gender Light-Heavyweight division - saw two MXL favourites in action, as The Villainess, Skye Smitson would go one-on-one with "The Crimson Killshot" Artemis.
- And finally, "The Limb Reaper" Freddie Blackstone would open proceedings with an open challenge!
With a lot of moving parts, it's a miracle Iwan and Leighton got all the news that is worthy in 22 minutes, but here it all is!
Recorded from London Bridge to Grove Park, on the evening of Monday May 29th 2023.
