Double stacking the Live Journals on our travels!
To close out the month of July, the MXL team went to TWO shows:
- First, Iwan, Dave, and Ashleigh "NOT an Uber Driver, he doesn't drive a Prius" Clements went to Coventry and witnessed Wrestle Carnival's second anniversary event. The aptly named "TWO" was main evented by two huge title bouts, as Man Like DeReiss would defend the Wrestle Carnival Championship against the Unpredictable CJ Rawlings, and Chris Ridgeway defended the Pure Championship against the Main Event Empress, Emersyn Jayne, in a rematch of the classic bout that crowned the first champion last year. The show featured a stacked undercard, with Leon Slater vs George Lydon, Safire Reed vs Lizzy Evo, Ivy vs Rayne Leverkusen, Lance Revera vs Leyton Buzzard, Chantal Jordan vs Amira and a Gauntlet for the Gold to crown the challenger to the Wrestle Carnival title in September at the company's debut in Cambridge. The lads talk about a card worthy of an anniversary, and with the variety expected from Wrestle Carnival!
- Then Iwan sat down with Liam "Definitely A Shitwolf" Stephens to talk about HOTEL WRESTLING courtesy of APEX Wrestling's biggest show of the year, "Glory" at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Milton Keynes. A stacked card saw APEX Heavyweight Champion Joseph Connors defend the title against Kylo Reece, The Rebellion defending the APEX Tag Team Championship, Division A Champion Morris BMF defending against Revlac, a huge three-team trios bout, Aluna Blue in action against Harley Harris and much more!
Well worth a listen as two very different shows are reviewed, all with the usual off-topic silliness you'd expect!
Recorded on the road from Coventry to Milton Keynes, then from Milton Keynes Central to Euston on the train on the evening of Sunday 30th July 2023.
