Something rather special from MXL here, as Iwan (along with Dave & Liam, who are in the room on the record...) sits down and chats with UKPW promoter, wrestler, commentator, ring announcer and general jack of all trades - Alex Gilbert, also known as Dow Jones.
UKPW are part of the huge All In weekend with their show "Tag, You're It!" from the Falconwood Community Centre on the afternoon of Saturday 26th August, where they present a four-team tournament to crown new UKPW Tag Team Champions. Also taking place are two huge superfights in UKPW Champion Alexander Roth vs. UKPW Women's Champion Kira Chimera, and Inter-Regional Champion Safire Reed vs. Scotty Rawk, that clearly show the promotion's intent to deliver a potential headline-grabbing show over what could be the greatest weekend in British Wrestling history.
Iwan and Alex discuss the Tag You're It show in detail, including the original plans for the event, and the impact of AEW running that weekend, before the discussion switches to UKPW in general, their journey since their relaunch back in 2021, their positive use of women's wrestlers, production and much more.
In the room, the near two-hour interview just breezed by, this was a cracking interview to conduct, and Alex was not afraid to pull back the curtain on certain aspects of UKPW and how the promotion ticks. He also had some great stories from his tenure as an in-ring competitor too, and at the heart of it, he's an incredibly passionate wrestling fan, and it definitely shows!
