Iwan and Dave are joined by regular MXL panellist and social media king Ashleigh Clements, and the podcast's favourite Shitwolf, Liam Stephens, to review Revolution Pro Wrestling's latest soujourn to York Hall, Bethnal Green, and there was a few EPIC ENCOUNTERS ahoy! (see what we did there...)
The lads shoot the shit about a stacked show:
- In the main event, could Michael Oku end the reign of terror of the Champion of the British, Great-O-Khan, and finally get his crowning moment in RevPro? We find out and give this important bout the deep dive!
- Two match of the Year candidates took place, as Leon Slater took on Will Ospreay and Jordon Breaks squared off with Zack Sabre Jr - could the future of British wrestling in their respective styles hold their own against two of the UK's greatest wrestling exports to the world?
- After three and a half years, we FINALLY saw the unification of the two women's championships in RevPro, in a four-way elimination match. With RevPro champion Alex Windsor and Southside champion Skye Smitson having to deal with both Hyan and Dani Luna, which of these four tremendous athletes would walk out of York Hall the one true Undisputed British Women's Champion?
- The Undisputed British Tag Team Championship was defended in a Welsh Civil War, as the Greedy Souls defended against Subculture. Could Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster capture the gold, or would Brendan White and Danny Jones' reign continue apace?
- Rounding out a stacked card, Filthy Tom Lawlor took on Luke Jacobs in a hard-hitting battle, Trent Seven and Sha Samuels went one-on-one, and on a night where his former tag partner hoped to be crowned atop the RevPro mountain, Connor Mills hoped to have his own coronation as he challenged Robbie X for the Undisputed British Cruiserweight title!
Other topics include: Iwan's experience at the Blur gig at Wembley Stadium, future implications for RevPro on their road to the 11th Anniversary show at the Copperbox, improvements to both venue security and bar staff compared to the Revolution Rumble in March, and, shock horror, some actual praise for the Great-o-Khan!
Always fun to go deep-dive on these RevPro shows at East London's most famous combat arena, so join us on an epic podcast journey!
Recorded in the SkypeCaff on the evening of Monday 10th July 2023.
