I laid down my plans of having my Ph.D before I hit 30 only to teach children at a small school. My dream of walking down the aisle before family and friends was snatched from me at the hands of COVID. During my first year of marriage, my husband and I shared a living space with four roommates while he pursued his degree all while living off of $18k per year. What does this have to do with what I was going to discuss in this week's episode? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. But, God told me cast aside my notes to share my story and a key component of maturing in our walk with Him as believers—surrender. When it's hard, painful, confusing, and frustrating, will you surrender your plans for His? We say we surrender all, but when the rubber meets the road, do we really? Lean in today with an open heart. If God is asking you to lay something down, it's only to put something greater in your hands.
