As mothers and daughters age, the relationship can be filled with joyous sharing, best-friend status, and ongoing support. But for many of us, it is a complicated relationship with childhood histories coming up and complexities and complications that seem way too difficult to reconcile.
Julie and Drea are mother and daughter and spent years not talking. Julie is an instructor in Internal Family Systems therapy (known as IFS) and she and Drea are here to talk about how they were able to work through their complicated relationship - and now are even working together in a new company they started called Cornsilk, which provides peer-based teaching and wellness.
Bounce Back Generation podcast is about building resilience to the tough times we live in. We interview experts and those who have made it through trauma and adversity and have a story to tell about how they bounce back. We are a nonprofit and we provide mental health tools and training to young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who do not have access to ongoing mental health and wellness tools that are strengths-based. We teach about how to manage our nervous system, understand and heal from childhood trauma and adversity, and create you life from the perspective of the hero's journey.
