Description

This week we sat down with Dr. Winston Kennedy to talk about our nervous systems, how the brain and body reacts, especially under threatening or stressful situations, and how to calm it down or bring it back into balance, so we can feel better.

Dr. Kennedy is an assistant professor at Northeastern University. He holds a doctorate in physical therapy, a master’s degree in public health and a PhD in Kinesiology with a concentration in adapted physical activity. Dr. Kennedy conducts research that supports the health and well-being of people with disabilities and he is currently investigating how physical activity interventions accommodate youth with psychiatric and intellectual developmental disabilities. Dr Kennedy is also interested in training healthcare professionals to work with and better support people with disabilities.
