Highlight – Romans Chapter 6:1-4 New Living Translation
Sin’s Power Is Broken
6 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
Explain – Paul reminds believers that they have been set free of the bondage of sin. The old lives of believers was buried, believers should live new lives in Christ.
Apply – We too are new creation in Christ, the old has passed away, we are free of the bondage of sin as long as we resist any and all temptations to return to sin. He is faithful to provide us a way out of every temptation, we must seek Him.
Respond – Lord thank You for setting me free from the bondage of sin. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always providing a way of escape from temptation and victory over my old sinful nature. Amen.
