Highlight - Genesis 11:5-9 New Living Translation
5 But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. 6 “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them!7 Come, let’s go down and confuse the people with different languages. Then they won’t be able to understand each other.” 8 In that way, the Lord scattered them all over the world, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why the city was called Babel,[b] because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way he scattered them all over the world.
Explain – The Lord in a conversation with Himself said let us go down and confuse the people with different languages and He scattered them over the world. They stopped building the Tower of Babel and babbling has meant confused speaking ever since. God was speaking with Himself when He said the “us” means that the Triune God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were all involved in the confusing of language and scattering of the people all over the world.
Apply – God is a Triune God, three persons in One. This is difficult for us to understand, but He is God, and we are not. We do not need to fully understand Him, He is way beyond our understanding, but we do need to know Him as our Lord and Savior, our friend, our everything. His love surpasses our understanding, but we can enjoy a full relationship with Him. His ways are the best so let’s follow Him faithfully and obediently forever.
Isaiah 40:28 ESV Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

1 John 2:16-17 ESV For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Romans 11:33 ESV Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
Respond - Lord, thank You for my life, for my salvation. Thank You, Lord, for this wonderful relationship that I share with You. I seek to abide in You as You abide in me following You faithfully and obediently. I pray for those that do not know You, that they come to You, in Jesus name. Amen.
