The Account of Creation
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.[a]
Explain – The very first verse in the Bible states simply that God created everything, time, space, the universe, and the earth.
Apply – We know, by faith, that God created time, space, the universe, heaven, and earth all so that His beloved humans would have a place to live and share in a relationship with Him. We share our lives with Him, our mind, body, and soul exist to know, to honor and worship Him.
John 1:1-3 ESV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Romans 1:20 ESV For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Jeremiah 32:17 ESV ‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
Colossians 1:16 ESV For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
1 Corinthians 8:6 ESV Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
John 3:16 ESV 16 “For God so loved the world,[i] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Respond - Lord, thank You for my life, for this wonderful relationship that we share. I strive to abide in You as You abide in me, faithfully and obediently following You. I pray for those that do not know You Lord, that they come to You, in Jesus name. Amen.
