Highlight – Exodus 5:22-23 New living Translation
22 Then Moses went back to the Lord and protested, “Why have you brought all this trouble on your own people, Lord? Why did you send me? 23 Ever since I came to Pharaoh as your spokesman, he has been even more brutal to your people. And you have done nothing to rescue them!”
Explain – Moses goes to the Lord asking why He had brought on all the trouble on the Hebrews. He asked further, why did He send Moses. Moses observed that Pharaoh became more brutal to the people and God had done nothing.
Apply - We can get caught up ourselves judging God’s motives, abilities, and results if we are not careful. We are really in no position to question God’s motives, abilities, or results. God’s ways are not our ways. His way is the best way, even when we can’t see the purpose or understand the delays. We need to exercise our faith and trust in the Lord in all circumstances.
Romans 15:13 ESV May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Psalm 28:7 ESV The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Romans 10:17 ESV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Isaiah 40:31 ESV But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Hebrews 11:6 ESV And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
John 14:1 ESV “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Respond – Lord, thank You for Your will and plan for my life. Help me Lord to fully trust You, not to question Your actions, motives, or timing. I know that Your ways are the best. I choose to follow You obediently and faithfully. I pray for all that do not know You, that they will seek and find You. Amen.
