HEAR Journaling - Exodus 8
Highlight – Exodus 8:12-15 New Living Translation
12 So Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh’s palace, and Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had inflicted on Pharaoh. 13 And the Lord did just what Moses had predicted. The frogs in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields all died. 14 The Egyptians piled them into great heaps, and a terrible stench filled the land. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that relief had come, he became stubborn.[c] He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had predicted.
Explain – Pharoah begged for the plague of frogs be lifted, but when the frogs were removed, his heart was ever more hardened, just as God had predicted.
Apply - There is no hiding anything from the Lord God. He knows everything, all time, all space including everything each of us ever thought, said, or did and also knows everything we will ever thing, say and do. Resistance and rebellion with God makes no sense, He loves us so we should repent and submit to His will and we will enjoy a joy filled life through eternity with Him.
1 Samuel 15:23 ESV For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”
Deuteronomy 28:47-48 ESV Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things, therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you.
Acts 5:29 ESV But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Nehemiah 9:17 ESV They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.
Isaiah 65:2 ESV I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;
1 Samuel 12:14-15 ESV If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well. But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you and your king.
Matthew 6:33 ESV
Proverbs 3:5-8 ESV
Respond – Thank You Lord for my salvation. I strive to follow You faithfully and obediently, always, forever. I pray for anyone that does not have a living relationship with You, that they would find You in Jesus Name. Amen.
