Highlight - 1 Corinthians 10 New Living Translation
12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
Explain – Paul explained to the believers in Corinth that they must be cautious not to fall, to resist the temptations in their lives that would lead to destruction. God would provide a way out for every temptation.
Apply – This is still applicable today, our lives are filled with temptations from all kinds of ways, each designed to snare us from being all we can be in Christ. We must run the good race by never wavering, always abiding in the Holy Spirit as He abides in us, to seek Him whenever temptation comes and following His instruction to overcome the attacks. We must continually wear the armor or God, remembering that the shield of faith will quench every attack of our enemy.
Respond – Lord, thank You for this Word of warning and instruction. I strive to abide in You as You abide in me. I will diligently follow You and will seek Your instruction when temptation comes, for Your glory.
