This episode is the first one of three episodes that will discuss the correct way of using the Adverbs of Place: Aqui (here), and Aí and Lá (There). The adverb of place AQUI indicates proximity with the speaker.
Exemplos:
Exemplo 1: Let’s pretend my friend lost her phone and she is searching it in the kitchen. I’m in the living room and find it on the couch. Then I shout:
“Mariana, seu celular está aqui no sofá.”

Exemplo 2: It’s December and I am on the phone with my friend who is in Italy.
So, I tell her “Aqui no Brasil está muito calor”.
And she replies “Aqui na Itália está fazendo muito frio"
Addend:
The adverb of place CÁ is most used in the following sentence: "Venha cá!" (come here). On a day to day basis, people say informally "Vem cá!".
Palavras em português usadas no podcast:
Fala, gente!
Eu tenho um amigo americano.
Advérbio de lugar.
