Rep. Jeff Leach has been one of the most vocal critics against Texas independence and he’s about to be tried for his irresponsible words in a court of law. Leach was recently served with a defamation lawsuit due to a previous Twitter statement claiming that Texans who support the TEXIT bill are advocating treason or sedition. All we can say is that public officials should not be accusing their citizens of a crime, punishable by death, for supporting their right to self-government.
