Description

This week Veronica admits she has some issues with the classic heterosexual engagement set up and how it strips away female agency and makes them too concerned about being chosen. She’s not against men proposing to women but she wonders why it's almost always the men asking the women, and what that is quietly teaching young women about asking for the things they want. Britt vows to pause all further Jane Austen films at the proposal scene and explain that the proposals can go both ways to her young girls (who Veronica considers her surrogate daughters).
