Capturing the beauty of Chicago's South Side, Tonika Johnson is a photographer and social justice artist on a mission to reshape narratives. Co-founder of Englewood Arts Collective, she uses her lens to showcase the richness of the black community and challenge media stereotypes. Chicagoan of the Year in 2017, her Folded Map project explores disparities across the city, evolving into a nonprofit advocating for social change. Named one of Field Foundation’s Leaders for a New Chicago, Tonika continues to make waves in art, activism, and community engagement.
