Revival is a loaded word for many people. You probably have one of two responses to it. On the one hand you may think of great moves of God in the past with Westley, Whitfield, or Knocks. Or perhaps the word conjures up emotional manipulation and a preacher begging for money. No matter what you feel when you hear the word “revival”, the biblical concept of revival is vital to the health of God’s people. 1 Samuel 7 reveals six components to revival all centered around God’s people being governed by godly desires. God has a way of using painful and impossible situations as surgical tools to do miraculous heart work within us. This is the work of revival.
