Politics and religion are two of the most potentially explosive topics to discuss, and Romans 13 goes right at them and their connection to one another. Human government has a God given power, a God given purpose, and a God given position. When those who rule and those who are ruled function the way God designed and intended, then the result is peaceful prosperity. But when we rebel against God’s design, there are drastic consequences to life and liberty. The issue of government really is not about you and any human authority, it is actually about you and God.
