Don't hold your breath because this week, Jeff and Chase are talking about the 1995 romantic film Waiting to Exhale.
Perhaps the unofficial predecessor to the 2000's rom-com anthology films, Waiting to Exhale follows four female friends as they search for a loyal husband and find themselves along the way. As a film with an all-Black all-female ensemble cast, Waiting to Exhale is a pillar in Angela's filmography. In this episode, Jeff and Chase get into the details of Angela's performance and the performances of her co-stars Whitney Houston, Loretta Devine, and Lela Rochon. They also discuss the Real Housewives of Atlanta cameo that Kenya Moore will never let us forget, the killer soundtrack to the film, and aspects of the movie they believe fall short through a modern understanding of feminism and marriage.
