This week we had National Guard and Marine Corp Veteran Barbara Sim. Barbara opened up about how much her family moved in her earlier years of growing up, even with some time living in Scotland. Once her family settled in more during her teenage years, and once out of High School. Barbara followed in her sisters' footsteps and joined the National Guard and after two years there made the move to the Marine Corp. While in the Marine Corp she ended up in Okinawa, and eventually on a deployment to Iraq. Have to listen for the stories there. Once she decided to leave the Marine Corp, she ran some though some personal growth for a few years before finding music amongst other things. While hiking the Appalachian Trail, she sang and taught herself to play the guitar. this led to her beginning to do some gigs and sharing her talents with others. This is where she began to feel at home even buying a van to travel the country while singing. Barbara is also part of Operation Encore. Near the end she takes some time and shares her beautiful voice with us, by singing a few of her favorite songs.
