Description

Misogynoir is a term coined by Moya Bailey in 2008 that addresses the specific misogyny faced by Black women because of the intersections of their racial and gender identity.  The "angry Black woman" trope, how Black women are treated in the health care system, and the racism rooted in the Sufraggrette movement are all examples of misogynoir.
