The soul is the spirit in partnership with the mind. According to Hebrews 4:12, The word of God pierces even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit which is suggestive of the fact that the soul and spirit are connected together
It is possible to have received the life of God i.e you are saved but within the realm of your mind and soul you are not, hence the reason why you have to read the word of God, pray, go to church
