Sometimes we may think we have committed too much sin to ever be forgiven. Sometimes we may even feel that God has given up on us and so we should probably just give up on our relationship with Him. Some who walk away from their covenants with Him and thus leave His Church might feel a sense of freedom without their covenants.
The book of Hosea reveals the real truth about each of these thoughts. We have not passed the point of no return, God will not give up on us, and it's not too late to return to His arms that are open to receive us. And the sense of freedom we might feel if we walk away from our covenants with God is a false sense of joy that will eventually leave us crashing to the ground without a parachute.
