In recovery we always had a saying.... "Play the tape out!"
This passage reminds me of that saying. Too many times we make decisions based on momentary satisfaction or pleasure not thinking about the long term effects (aka not playing the tape out)
One of my biggest struggles in the past when trying to get clean and sober would be telling "war stories" (talking about all the things we done in addiction) or reminiscing on the good times and forgetting about the bad times. BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DON'T FALL INTO THAT TEMPTATION!
The enemy will come and tempt you with enticing things, pleasures or achievements.... But play the tape out and remember what happened last time and don't fall for it. Those things can lead to death.
TODAY, DON'T FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM, SO YOU CAN BE SURE YOU DON'T GO BACK THERE!
