Episode Description:
This Palm Sunday, we wave our palms and shout Hosanna!—but what are we really saying? In this episode of The Beginner’s Guide to the Good News, Pastor Zach Bechtold walks us through Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and invites us to pause, pay attention, and be fully present as Holy Week begins.

Jesus doesn’t arrive as a warrior king on a horse, but as the Prince of Peace on a donkey. He doesn’t rush to a palace, but quietly enters the temple—aware of what lies ahead. Through this powerful moment, we’re reminded that the journey to Easter goes through every twist of this coming week: the table, the betrayal, the cross, and the silence of the tomb.

As we shout Hosanna—“please save us”—may it be more than a cheer. May it be a prayer, a protest, and a plea for the hope we find in Jesus.
