Generation to Generation: We Keep Seeking
Matthew 2:1–12

On Epiphany, we follow the Magi—outsiders, seekers, and Gentiles—who notice a star and choose to follow it, even when they don’t fully understand where it will lead. Their journey reminds us that faith is not something we simply inherit or complete, but something we live, embody, and continue to seek together.

As our Generation to Generation series comes to a close, this sermon reflects on what it means to remain open—to keep watching for God’s light, to stay curious, and to trust that God is still at work beyond what we already know. The Magi show us that seeking is not a sign of weak faith, but living faith. A faith willing to move, to change, and sometimes to go home by another way.

This Epiphany, we are invited not to have all the answers, but to keep seeking—seeking hope, peace, joy, and love—and to trust that God will meet us along the journey, just as God always has, from generation to generation.
