She knew early in life that she was a helper, so she has been in the Healthcare industry for 20 years. The bulk of her career was with Cook Children’s as a liaison to physicians and the community representing their centers of excellence. Leah has been with Care & Prepare for 3 years. As their Executive Director. Care & Prepare engages individuals, both healthy and facing illness, in a proactive dialogue around Advance Care Planning to ensure that their wishes for end-of-life are clear and honored. She mainly helps behind the scenes garnering support for their mission which is for “All people to live well All their days”. Care & Prepare does this by stimulating End of Life care conversations through educational events like this one.
One of her Greatest achievement was Spearheading an 18-month physician education program sharing Cook Children's cancer research. Their team radically changed referral patterns, which impacted survival rates of high-risk pediatric patients.
