In sobriety, we hear that half measures avail us nothing and that the results and benefits of the program are nil unless we let go absolutely. But what does letting go truly mean? And how do I know if I’ve let go absolutely? It's not about inaction; it's an active process, a conscious choice to engage with life differently.
Also, here’s a misunderstanding of letting go—letting go doesn't equate to not caring. I've faced misunderstandings – people thinking I'm indifferent because I don’t get wound up like I used to when I was drinking. But the truth is, getting spun up is uncomfortable for me; it's a hurricane inside me.
To attain results and holistic health – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually –I must let go absolutely. This means I cease trying to force old activities into my life. If I'm still trying to live like Rachel version 2.0, I haven't truly surrendered and am only breeding frustration and pain.
Listen to this episode for inspiration on how to rise up and bring your values with you as you step to a new rhythm of life as it is now.
