Today I explore the need to focus on the present moment. It resonates so much deeper than this with me as I share some mental challenges I've been dealing with since my stroke. I talk about balancing our past, present, and future to enrich our lives and find true purpose and joy.
Do we really see the whole picture if we are always in the here and now? What if sometimes, not being in the here and now actually enhances our life's meaning or helps us navigate challenges? I found this enlightening today. Or at least it gave me validation that its ok to look back and look forward. There’s nothing wrong with this as long as it is adding value to the here and now when I return and become grounded.
Reflecting on our past achievements and happy memories can be empowering. While my present might be challenging, my past can show me that my life has had meaningful, joyful, and massive growth that began as a challenge.
Our goals and hopes for what's to come play a significant role in giving our lives purpose and direction today. By looking at the whole picture, we start to see our current challenges as just one part of a larger, more complex beautiful life story.
