Description

In this episode of the Recovery Daily Podcast, I discuss the vicious cycle of neurosis—what I call "my crazy"— and alcoholism that once trapped me in a prison of fear, loneliness, and desperation. I share my reflections on living in a state where I couldn't get drunk enough to escape the pain, yet couldn't sober up enough to face my reality. This relentless cycle left me feeling hopeless, constantly trying to numb the pain but only causing more suffering.

I discuss the importance of keeping the memory of that misery fresh in my mind as a daily reminder of why I choose sobriety. By revisiting those dark times, I stay grounded each day in the reality that drinking was never a solution—it was the root of my suffering.

This episode is an expression of gratitude for my recovery. I express my daily thanks for sobriety through an evening prayer, and pause to remember the mental and emotional chains that once held me captive.
