Description

Sometimes willingness feels like grabbing a hold of a moving train. I've got the momentum to move forward, but often it can get very messy along the way. I'm one of the lucky ones that found willingness in the depths of my active alcoholism. And it was from that willingness to pick up the phone and call INOVA CATS detox program that I am here today as the best version of myself that I'm able to give to my two young adult children.n

It was the same willingness that struck me in June of 2023 and led me away from the career I loved to start full time recovery focused on what was declining health as a stroke survivor.

In today's episode, I talk about how that small bit of willingness turned into a faith that works for me. Some days willingness is just me putting to feet on the ground even though I want to hide under the covers and feel sorry for myself that I'm no longer the woman I used to be. But with that small bit of willingness and a tiny bit of momentum, I realize quickly every morning that I AM the same woman; in fact, I'm stronger than I ever was.

I don't have to carry the load alone. When I grab a hold of the moving train, there are so many passengers reaching out for my hand. Join me today as I talk about how my dependence on alcohol and myself alone has shifted to dependence on my fellow passengers and my higher power.
