Description

Love heals. That is a fact, and I have proof of it. Sobriety fellowship stroke support groups, and vestibular support groups that I am a part of have provided me with a deep, genuine love that is mutual and is built upon principles and the desire to see one another succeed.

Sometimes a recovering alcoholic, stroke survivor, and others healing from a traumatic life event must try many different groups to find the one that feels like home. When I first started going to meetings, I didn't walk in and feel an instant connection. I had to go to a lot of meetings that, although still helpful, did not necessarily feel like home. Eventually though I made it home, and there's something magical there when we find our people. The people who get it.

In this episode, I talk about the genuine love that I have received in these recovery groups. It's a different kind of love from anything I had experienced before. It's unconditional, and it's based on principles not personalities. As we say in sobriety, we will love you until you love yourself.

Moving from a life of isolation to never feeling alone again has changed my life. If you or a loved one are seeking a support group please reach out to me, and I'd be happy to share with you the information that I have for some great fellowships. In the meantime, listen to my podcast episode!
