In today's episode, I share about my neurology appointment yesterday and my continuous quest for understanding my health post-stroke. As Amy Farrah Fowler would say, "I want to cut open your brain and see what the heck is going on in there." Where is Amy Farrah Fowler when I need her! (Big Bang Theory Quote 2693)
Anyway, at the appointment we reviewed the latest MRI, specifically targeting the interior components of my ears. We also discussed an occipital lobe infarct that is separate from the larger stroke I had in my posterior lobe. What does this mean? Listen in to hear me mispronounce all of this and explain.
I'm once again standing (sitting actually) at a familiar crossroads of relief and frustration. Relief, because no life-threatening discoveries were made; frustration, because the quest for answers continues. Each appointment leaves me a bit more deflated, despite the upbeat reassurances from my doctor that "everything looks great." I want everything to look great, yet I want to know why I am disabled.
