Today, I wanted to talk about why individuals in recovery from stroke, sobriety, and those battling chronic illnesses might find the once robust support network around them slowly waning. It's a reality many of us face, and it's disheartening and adds another layer of challenge to our recovery process.

In this episode, I explore why this happens and, most importantly, how we can nurture and sustain our support networks over time. In the initial stages of recovery or diagnosis, there's often an outpouring of support and concern. Friends, family, and even the broader community rally around us. However, as time moves on, this initial surge can diminish.

Several understandable factors contribute to this gradual fade. And, the good news is that there are proactive steps we can take to nurture our support networks and even grow them. It starts with communication — I love me some communication!
