Today’s Daily Reflection was about how resentment acts as a dam. And I agree that it does block the flow of love, trust, and connections in our lives. The 12 steps of my sobriety program provide me with a framework for admitting hurt, making amends, and maintaining relationships. Today I was given the gift of making amends with someone in my life. Ironically my morning meeting prepared me by suggesting praying before tough conversations, using my God Box, and (this one is brilliant) practicing loving behavior even when the feeling isn’t natural yet, and the heart often follows the habit.
I can’t unknow painful truths, and I can’t change people. But I can choose how I respond to them, accept them, choose action, and move forward with freedom.

This month I'm participating in a fundraiser for vestibular disorders awareness because I know what it’s like to live with something you can’t fully explain and no one can see. Visit my fundraising page: https://s2b.funraise.org/fundraiser/rachel-abbassi
