Today, I want to talk about "waiting until you're ready." I heard a meditation on the calm.com app that talked about "waiting until your ready." This idea took on a whole new meaning for me in my first year of sobriety. And it continues to be something that I get to push through in stroke recovery when I’m faced with something hard.
I often talk about the concept of "turning off my wanter." The moment that "I don't want to" begins to form in my mind, I don't even let it finish. I simply get up and move toward "the thing." I don't give a voice to that dread inside me, and instead, link the feeling to immediate action.
