Description

In today's episode of the Recovery Daily Podcast, I discuss seeking and observing our higher power. This episode focuses on seeking solutions outside of ourselves, particularly in moments when we feel mentally unwell. I explore various ways to connect with our higher power and discuss the immediate gratification that can come from consistently practicing these methods.

I start by examining those times when life feels overwhelming—when anger, loneliness, fear, or agitation make us want to give up. In these moments, we must interrupt ourselves and seek a connection with our higher power. I share a few of my personal shortcuts to finding this connection: taking a simple deep breath, attending Zoom AA meetings, picking up the phone to call someone, and being present with my puppies.

By practicing these actions, I find immediate relief and clarity. I also introduce the concept of the "evidence bag"—a collection of moments where we clearly see our higher power at work in our lives. This tangible reminder helps reinforce our faith and supports our recovery.

Join me as I discuss how to build your own evidence bag, and we will observe the impact it has on our experiences. Let's start the evidence bag project together and discover the gifts and signs of our higher power's presence in our daily lives.
