My first guest was Stephanie Zellhoefer. Since 2008 I was drawn to her.
She is badass at work AND play. She is FEARLESS. I often think, how do I be more like THAT!? Stephanie sings, dances, and develops strategies. She was born and raised in a split between the cities of So-Cal and the mountains of Nor-Cal.
She has traveled the world and had a roster of impressive career roles and clients such as WeWork, Red Bull, Disneyland, and more.
Now she is creating a company that organizes solutions that bring together want and need in the events industry.
From starting her career working in a restaurant to becoming a Disneyland Performer, to becoming the face of Panasonic on a US tour, to moving to Asia to work with global brands on designing their workspaces with WeWork, she’s lived a pretty exciting life. We learned that she used a hula hoop to recover from a torn ACL.
She built the world’s biggest shower. She has lived her life by seizing opportunities (or rather seeing them and going for them) and how she lives her life by saying yes. She views distractions as ‘opportunities’ rather than annoyances. And she incorporates planning into everything she does, which counter-intuitively makes her feel free.
As she’s in ‘startup’ mode with her current venture, she also shared some of the frustrations in building a business and how she approaches them. How she learned that keeping your idea to yourself is not the right thing to do and the struggles of finding a niche.
